Adam Lambert Admits He Got Carried Away At The AMAs
Although Adam Lambert says he’s ” not a babysitter ,” he admitted he “did get carried away” during his interview on CBS’s ‘The Early Show.’ Adam was on CBS rather than ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ because ABC cancelled his scheduled performance for them. ” I admit, I did get carried away , but I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he said on CBS’ The Early Show Wednesday. “I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was just to interpret the lyrics to my song and have a good time up there.” Adam said the racy moves (kissing a drummer, simulating fellatio) were not part of his rehearsal but instead were “impromptu.” “ABC was taken a little by surprise — and that wasn’t my intention,” he said. “I wasn’t being sneaky.” Being on stage, he said, “It got the most of me.” Adam explained that with his theater background, his focus was on who was in the audience, so it never occurred to him to consider that children were watching, especially at 10 pm at night. Looking out at the crowd, Adam said he thought to himself: “‘I wanna let loose!’ It just kind of got the best of me.” Below is a clip of Adam’s ‘The Early Show’ interview.
