Jamie Foxx and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges are joining other celebrities and African-American leaders to promote  “i know,” a social media effort launched last week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. FRIDAY DISCUSSION: The megachain Wal-Mart acknowledged today that it’s selling ethnic Barbie dolls for about half of what it charges for Caucasian Barbies. The store was forced into the admission after a Louisiana-based shopper posted a photo of the diverse dolls and their respective pricetags side by side in a Wal-Mart. Is it a racial issue? Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), popularly known as Biggie Smalls or simply Biggie is honored today. Raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, Wallace grew up during the peak years of the 1980s crack epidemic. Although he dealt drugs at an early age, Biggie became a legend in his own right after the release of his debut album in 1994 entitled Ready to Die. His career blossomed from there and tragically ended on March 9, 1997when he was gunned down on the west coast. Wallace’s murder remains unsolved and there are many theories regarding the identities and motives of the murderers.
